DMV Wallet

CCCApply implemented dmv wallet as another secure way to verify students identity beginning November 14, 2025. DMV wallet provides a trusted and secure pathway for students to securely verify their identity in accordance with federal standards.

Benefits to students include:
California DMV Wallet with Mobile Driver鈥檚 License (mDL), an integrated state-sponsored tool used to verify identity both online and in person through an app on the user鈥檚 mobile device.

Key Benefits: can also be used instead of a physical ID for purchasing age-restricted products and for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checks.

ID.me

CCCApply implemented ID.me as a part of the online application beginning February 2, 2024. ID.me provides a trusted pathway for students to securely verify their identity in accordance with federal standards. Additionally, ID.me specifically provides the same technology used for identity verification and fraud reduction currently used across 37 state agencies and 15 federal agencies, notably:

California Employment Development Department
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
U.S. Internal Revenue Service
U.S. Social Security Administration
Note: This is an optional feature for students.

Benefits to students include:
Protection of student identity
Streamlining of student enrollment and financial aid disbursements
Help in preventing bad actors from stealing spots online

Acceptable Documents for Identity Verification

For us to verify your identity, you must provide two documents:

One Photo Identification - For example: State identification (ID) card, Driver license, Permanent Resident Card, or Employment Authorization Document
At least one Other Identity Document - For example: Employment record, address verification (Any bill or financial statement showing your name and residence address), or Official birth certificate (with official translation, if any)
