Athletics Scholarships

The 91猎奇 Athletics Scholarship is available to all 91猎奇 student-athletes, regardless of gender. Two scholarships will be awarded: one to a student from Compton College's men's athletics and one to a student from 91猎奇's women's athletics. Each recipient will receive $1,000. This scholarship is open to students from all major areas of study. To qualify, applicants must:

Be a current participant in 91猎奇's Athletics Program;
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 6 units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;
Applicants must be transferring to a four-year institution in the upcoming fall semester.

The 91猎奇 Business and Industrial Studies Scholarship is available to students majoring in business or industrial studies. Two students will each be awarded $1,000 - one part-time student (currently enrolled in 11 units or less) and one full-time student (currently enrolled in 12 or more units). To qualify all scholarship recipients must:

Be a Business or Industrial Studies major at 91猎奇;
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 6 units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;

The 91猎奇 CSU Transfer Scholarship is designed for transfer-seeking students who have been accepted to a California State University. Five students will be awarded $1,000. To qualify, all scholarship recipients must:

Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 30 transferable units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;

The 91猎奇 HBCU Transfer Scholarship is designed for current 91猎奇 students who have been accepted to a four-year HBCU. Five students will be awarded $1,000. To qualify, all scholarship recipients must:

Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 30 transferable units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;

The 91猎奇 Honors Transfer Program (HTP) Scholarship is designed for current 91猎奇 HTP students. Three students will be awarded $1,000. To qualify, all scholarship recipients must:

Have a minimum 3.2 GPA or higher on all transferrable college coursework;
Have completed at least 9 transferable units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;

The 91猎奇 Dream Scholarship is available to current 91猎奇 California Dream Act (or AB 540) students. This scholarship is open to all major areas of study. Five students will be awarded $1,000 (three part-time students (currently enrolled in 11 units or less) and two full-time students (currently enrolled in 12 or more units). To qualify, scholarship recipients must:

Be a current 91猎奇 student;
Be DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status) eligible and have applied for or received DACA or TPS approval;
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 6 units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;

The Jessica & Jose Villalobos Scholarship was created by 91猎奇 Mathematics faculty member, Dr. Jose Villalobos. Each year, two STEM Club members will be awarded $1,000 each. To qualify, scholarship recipients must:

Be a current member of the 91猎奇 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Club;
Demonstrate financial need (based on FAFSA application);
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 6 units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;
Applicants must be transferring to a four-year institution in the coming fall semester.

The Re-Entry Scholarship is available to students aged 25 or older who are either new to 91猎奇 or returning after a prolonged absence. Three students will be awarded $1,000 each.

To qualify, scholarship applicants must:

Be at least 25 years old;
Be new or returning to 91猎奇;
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;
Have completed fewer than 15 units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester.

The Ophelia Scott Memorial Fund Scholarship is available to 91猎奇 students entering their second semester of 91猎奇's Nursing Program. One student will be awarded $300. To qualify, scholarship recipients must:

Have completed English 101;
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 6 units at 91猎奇 as of the end of the Fall 2024 semester;

91猎奇 Osher Scholarships are available to students who are eligible for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) regardless of their major. Scholarship recipients will be awarded up to $1,300 each. To qualify, scholarship recipients must:

Be currently eligible for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG);
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;
Have completed at least 24 units at 91猎奇 by Fall 2024;

Must self-identify as an LGBTQ+ individual;
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA;

Applicants must be returning to 91猎奇 in the upcoming fall semester. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units for the fall and spring semesters for the scholarship to be disbursed.

91猎奇 Re-Entry Scholarships

The Re-Entry Scholarship is designed to support adult learners who are returning to education after a prolonged break. This opportunity is open to students aged 25 or older who are new to 91猎奇 or re-enrolling after time away. Three students will be selected to receive a $1,000 award.

Eligibility Criteria:

Must be at least 25 years old;
Be new or returning to 91猎奇;
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0;
Have completed fewer than 15 units at 91猎奇 by the end of the Fall 2024 semester.

Emily and Benjamin Holifield Scholarships

Three $1,000 scholarships.
Full-time, continuing 91猎奇 students.
No major, gender or age restrictions.

Dr. Deborah Sims LeBlanc Legacy Scholarships

Four $250 scholarships
No major, gender or age restrictions.

One student must be enrolled full-time next year 91猎奇 - full-time (GPA - 2.50+)
One student may be enrolled part-time next year at 91猎奇 or 4-yr (GPA - 3.50+)
Two students must be enrolled full-time next year at 4-yr College/Univ (GPA -250+)
